Hurdles In The Effective Social Through Education

In India, now having about hundred of universities, thousand of colleges and institutions and lakhs of schools and other professional, vocational and technical institutions, large number of highly educated people, Brain drain of Indian experts and teachers and having made very notable achievements in science, technology and literary filed there exists a wide spread dissatisfaction in all section of society that our education system has not been able to bring about the expected social change, Modernization social reform and social progress as out constitution had pledged to the people of India in 1950.

There are the main hurdles or problems in it may be enumerated as under:

1. Although our education minister, educational planners, educationalist, education administrator-sand reports of several education commissions and committees and policy statements and annual reports of all apex educational and research institutions have been taking of many high sounding aims of education to impress the Indian masses and the world at large, the truth is that the predominant or sole goal of modern Indian education is now limited to be hook or crook a diploma or university degree and with its helps to get employment or job and earn money.

2. Our focus of our present education is not really on social reform, narrowing down socio-economic disparities, removing social injustices concern for the uplift of the down trodden and on rendering any genuine social service to the people of India. There is no genuine and powerful national mission undertaken by the state as such at present, Self-interest, economics corruption.

3. The growing trends today of privatization of education and globalization, with capitalists, corrupts politicians and educational entrepreneurs and will deprive the poor people monthly the benefits of education.

4. The government of India and the state governments are trying to evade their responsibility in provide good quality but to provide low cost in effective education in schools and college to the masses. In many states, in the name of affecting economy in expenditure vacant posts of  teachers are not being done by "Guest teachers" (athiti adhyapak) who are paid very merge amounts like a daily  wager laborious they are not given any Dearness Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, holiday, vacation salary, pension, gratuity etc.

5. Curriculum, methods of teaching, infrastructures and academic provisions in most of the Private and aided schools are substandard and old. There is hardly anythings new, innovative, modern or futuristic in them. There is no strong and genuine emphasis on social change in them. As students of sociology of education and future citizens it is your intellectual duty to be a keen social observer and an objective balanced, responsible and fearless social critic and carefully think over this sociological facts and decide how things can be for the betterment for the Indian society.
